When I am first approached I am always aware that, particularly
in matters of family law, you may be unsure exactly
what it is that you want from me and also what I can
do for you.
I
therefore offer an initial consultation in which I,
quite simply, listen. I will then try to structure an
approach to your concerns which fits into the legal
context as I see it.
This
"orientation" about the issues allows me to
agree a plan of action. I will discuss options with
you and what timescales may be involved. When those
are explained I will also advise you on what the costs
might be of achieving your goals.
Finally,
when your initial consultation is complete, I will put
in writing what has been discussed and the preferred
course of action that we have agreed between us. What
is important at this early stage is that we are clear
on what it is I might be able to do to help you.
